CyberSmart! fosters 21st century skills to increase student engagement and prepare students to achieve in today's digital society.

In this way we are very different—and substantially more effective—than organizations that only promote messages alerting educators, students, and parents to the dangers of the Internet. While we do directly address online safety and security issues, we do so with a clear focus on the educational objective—fostering 21st century skills to increase student engagement and prepare students to achieve in today's d igital society.

CyberSmart! Online Workshops, facilitated professional development, give educators a hands-on experience in 21st century skills—the new basic skills—to meet the learning needs of today’s students. Educators engage in the same kinds of learning they are expected to facilitate in the classroom.

Two free resources support daily teaching. The free CyberSmart! Student Curriculum empowers students and the free CyberSmart! Educator Toolbar puts 21st century skills into everyday practice.

CyberSmart! Africa tackles the challenges of scale and sustainability which lie at the core of successfully fighting a digital war on poverty—preparing students to benefit economically, socially and politically, from living in a digital world.

Africa 21st Century Learning Initiative is to create a model for digital learning that is truly sustainable and scalable through innovative, technology-based approaches.Our ultimate goal is narrowing the digital divide and preparing students to benefit economically, socially and politically from living in a connected world.
